History of Kiwi

This fruit was cultivated first by a farmer in the southern China and was named as the Chinese national fruit in there. But, then in the sixty decade it was called as Kiwi the name of a beautiful bird which has been the national bird in New Zealand.
This fruit is a cross between strawberry, banana, pineapple, and grapefruit and its flavor is a mix of strawberry, banana and pineapple.  The cutting of this fruit becomes sapling after one week and could be granted. It’s one of the most common methods of cultivating kiwi saplings in the world especially in China. It should be noted that China is one of the largest exporter of kiwi sapling.

Nutrition
Kiwi is a rich source of vitamin C, even more than orange. Its black seeds have vitamin D and the fruit contains vitamin A, E, B1, B2, B3 and other vitamins of B group. It is a low calorie fruit and contains 47 calories in 100 grams. It is like apricot and tangerine in terms of calorie absorption. It contains potassium more than banana. It is also a rich source of magnesium so it reduces the risk of some cancers and heart diseases. It also contains copper, iron, folic acid, calcium and phosphorus. Kiwi contains high amount of nutrition while low calorie, so it could be considered as a healthy fruit.
The raw kiwi contains some high amount of potassium-dissolving enzymes named as papain which is useful for tenderizing the meat, but it could cause allergy in some people specially those allergic to papaya or pineapple.
This enzyme, which is removed rapidly by cooking the fruit, makes the raw kiwi improper to be used in desserts that contains milk or other dairy products, because it creates a very bad smell and dissolves the milk’s protein in some minutes.

This amount of vitamin C is provided by eating two kiwis. This fruit contains vitamin C and coffee acid which are two main anti-cancer materials. It has also some enzymes which dissolve proteins.
